Getting Ahead.. and behind too.

Amazing how that works, isn’t it?  I’m currently trying to get ahead with my scrapooking business.  This involves me getting about 1 month ahead of releases.  I’m currently about 3 weeks ahead, so I”m ALMOST there.. not quite.. but almost.  It feels good though!  In other news I am emersing my mind in CSS.  Genevieve and I have a little buisness idea and I need to brush up on my skills!  I used to be fairly proficent at CSS & HTML but staying away from it for a long time really can mess you up.  In fact staying away for too long is horrible, you miss out on all the new coding and trends and what not.. that = bad. My husband bought me a few books today while he was out driving a friend of ours to the airport. HTML & XHTML (O’Reilly) and Head First HTML with CSS & XHTML.  THose should both be fun to play with.

My plan for tomorrow is to get organized.  I want to get my office & living room SUPER clean.  Not just a little clean but “eat off the floor” clean.  I also need to call the vet since we slept in for our vet appointment.  Buddy needs to get snipped.

What else have I been doing?  I’ve been reading my journal from 7 years ago.. when I was 20, in college, and had just met my husband in person for the first time.  It’s a good thing to do, it makes me appreciate him and I start feeling all giddy and happy just like I did 7 years ago!  Here is a quote from my journal.. 7 years ago today…

We kissed quite a bit.  He’s just so sweet! - Leah Page, Age 20, Dec. 29th 2001

heh.  Maybe I should hide this journal from my kids.. I don’t want them knowing that I was kissing their dad the first day we met “in person”  They’ll think I was easy!  In my own defense that was my first kiss after a four year dry spell.. so dang it.. um.. good excuse.. right?  Yes?  No?  No… I’m a bad Mormon.

Merry Christmas

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas.  I know I did.  I ended up waking up my family so we could get started.  I didn’t sleep overly well the night before.. especially after getting to bed at 3am..  Regardless… Christmas was AWESOME!  Caitlyn got her Barbie Dream House and Barbie Bike and was thrilled to say the least.  I made those Cinnamon Rolls by Pioneer Woman and holy cow they were FREAKING AWESOME!  We gave a pan to our neighbors across the street and next door.. then we sent some to the Chapman’s and Laser’s (they are two families from church that happen to ROCK)  It was great.  The rest of the day was spent being lazy, talking on the phone, working on blog design and telling caitlyn to be careful while the rode her cute little bike up and down the hall.  Did your parents let you ride your back int he house?  I THINK NOT!  Do I?  Yes, I get the “bad parent of the year” award, kkthx.

Tomorrow is a big day.  Tomorrow our sweet dog Buddy is getting snipped… and getting his first round of shots.  Poor puppy.. he is NOT going to be very happy with us.. I can feel it.  Honestly, I never thought I’d love an animal so much.  He’s just like another kid.  I get on to him, and he gives me “the look” and I’m all “awww, poor puppy”  I should mention that my puppy is almost 80 pounds now.  Yeah.. poor little dog.

Anyway, as I said before, I was working on th eblog so click the link above and go check it out!

Where did my day go?!

Do you ever have a day that you feel like was stolen from you?  You had plans to do one thing and other people had plans for you.. the kind of plans that you weren’t even aware of?  Next thing you know you are in Hobby Lobby discussing real turtle doves verses the turtles with feathery wings.  Ok, let’s recap.  Today we had the missionaries over for lunch.  (If you have no idea what I”m talking about click here)  I invited my mom over as well.  Let me tell you, the weather was pretty horribad.  Anyway, mom, missionaries, spaghetti, a barking dog & one case of indigestion later.. and we decide that we should head to Hobby Lobby so I can work on my center piece.

My mom is awesome!  I should mention that.  She is great at decorating.. me, not so much.  Anyway, I have this centerpiece that I”m supposed to do for the Ward Christmas Party.  Two Turtle Doves.. so yeah, let’s just say my mind didn’t naturally go to two beautiful birds.  I had ideas that ranged from toy turtles sitting on piles of dove soap to gluing feathers on the sides of turtles.. (which won)  We thought for a moment to go the REAL turtle dove route but.. that just isn’t me!  I mean, come on.. how is that fun?

Anyway, we get all of the stuff.. the weather cleared up.. we get to my mom’s place and I start to hem the tablecloth.. Let’s just say that I lack a lot of hands on crafty talent.  Me and the computer.. best buds forever.. I don’t have to be coordinated to do stuff on the computer!  Anyway, she goes to pick up a friend while she leaves me and the sewing machine to have a few words with each other.. Let’s just say.. the sewing machine won.

Then we head to our meditation class which was AWESOME as always.  After that my mom says.. “Don’t you want to stay the night” And I’m all “I’d like to go home” and then she’s all “You need to get out of the house more” … yeah, see that there?  That’s a triple dot.  DOT DOT DOT.. ok, I get out of the house, I thought I had been “out of the house” for the past few hours!  *dies*  Anyway, my mom is awesome. the day went by fast, and I got nothing done that I wanted to, things done that I needed to, and somethings done that I didn’t know I wanted to… so there.. a boring detail of my day.

PS - my blog is still prettier than yours.
