Oh my. I just moved in June. Now I am going to move yet again. This time to another house in the same neighborhood. My landlady owns another house that has 3 bedrooms as opposed to my current two. She had it for sale but would be taking it off the market for me to rent. The best part.. I rent for the same amount! The bad part.. I have a LOT of painting to do. Whoever she hired to paint the house in the first place painted EVERYTHING the same matte tan color. When I say everything I mean TRIM. *insert gag here* She’s going to turn on the utilities and let me go in and start painting now. I want to get that house cleaned and painted before we move in. I’m really excited because we will have a LOT more room, but wow.. I have a lot of work to do. LOT.. lot lot. I like these older homes though, they have a certain amount of charm. Something about those 1950’s cottage ranch houses just make me smile.. like the scalloped wood over the sink/window. I mean.. come on! How can you not love that?! What I don’t love.. the chocolate and vanilla swirl sink in the bathroom. I also am not a fan of the neighbor who is “harmless” that wanders the neighborhood with a cup constantly trying to bum cigarettes off of people. He was sitting in the carport when we came from the back yard and scared me to death!
In other news.. I did a “hybrid” ish project yesterday. I took a picture and totally forgot to upload it! It is really simple but I think it turned out cute! I love adding little things that make our home special. I worry that the new house won’t have the same “special” feel. I have to remind myself that the house I am in now looked ROUGH when I moved in and now it looks super cute. This new (old) house is in much better condition overall.
So I’m excited.. and overwhelmed. So much to do… *sigh*

I might be moving soon myself, but it will be a major move (about 500 miles!). I love setting up a new house but you’re right, it can be really overwhelming!
Amen.
